The Taste and Memories of the Countryside: Recreating Malay Banana Fritters (Cekodok) with Goglufree All Purpose Flour 🍌🍚
In our childhood memories, Malay banana fritters (Cekodok) were the most anticipated snack for every kampung (village) child after school. The sweet aroma of bananas and the soft texture, accompanied by the sound of the wind through the paddy fields and the joyful laughter of family, brought immense satisfaction. 🌾👨👩👧👦
Now, we've reimagined this classic treat using Goglufree's all-purpose gluten-free flour, retaining the traditional flavor while introducing a crispy outer layer and the unique fragrance of rice. With just one bite, it's as if you've been transported back to those innocent times of childhood, where the tranquility and warmth of the countryside are captured in every mouthful! ✨
Recipe Preparation: (Makes 15-20 pieces)
- All-Purpose Gluten-Free Flour - 100g
- Banana (Berangan) - 380g (peeled)
- Salt - 3g
- Sugar - 10g (optional, omit if the bananas are already very sweet)
- Oil - Adjust as needed (rice bran oil, peanut oil, or any high-heat-resistant oil can be used)
It’s best to choose bananas with black spots, as they are the sweetest.
This recipe is actually very simple; no water is needed. Just add the all-purpose gluten-free flour directly and mix well.
Mix until the batter reaches a thick consistency.
The natural aroma of grains and a crispy texture. With each bite, it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with a rich rice fragrance. Absolutely delicious!
